Led by experienced senior tutors, former teachers and examiners, our 7+, 8+ and 11+ courses are hosted over the Easter Holidays, May Bank Holiday, Summer Holidays and October Half Term. Running since 2014, these invaluable courses help students to prepare for pre-test and main assessment examinations for specific schools in the UK. Our in-person courses are held in Hammersmith and Hampstead, London, but we also offer every course online to allow international students to participate.

Each course covers key content that fits the appropriate stage of revision and development (examples: comprehension technique, story-writing, consolidation of key maths topics) as well as skill-building and test-taking strategies (examples: problem-solving skills, handling nerves, exam technique, time management, non-verbal and verbal reasoning tips). Most courses also include an interview workshop and mock exams which are marked by specialist tutors with written feedback subsequently provided to parents.

11+ COURSE CONTENT:

For pupils in Y5 and Y6, the material will touch on both the multiple choice style of testing (for pre-tests and CATS) and the written test format for schools which still set written papers. Past participants in our 11+ courses have earned places at St. Paul’s (Girls’ and Boys’ Schools), Westminster, North London Collegiate, City, Habs, Highgate, UCS, Merchant Taylors, Francis Holland, South Hampstead High, Latymer Upper, Godolphin, Notting Hill and Ealing, Winchester, Eton, Wycombe Abbey and many more. Several have been offered academic scholarships.

ISEB PRE-TEST COURSE CONTENT:

This 1-day revision course will focus on the requirements of the ISEB Common Pretest. The course will include an overview of the test as well as specific strategies and advice on how to deal with the various question types within each of the four sections: Mathematics, English, Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning. We use exclusively-written paper resources to teach this course. Many of the questions in the course material were created by the same experts who write the questions for the actual ISEB Pretest. This course will be taught by a highly experienced Pretest tutor.

7+ & 8+ COURSE CONTENT:

This course will provide a comprehensive programme of skills-based study across English, Maths and Reasoning topics using exclusive in-house materials. As well as a week of rigorous learning, there will be added take home material for you to reinforce your child’s skills as well as a short report to aid preparation. Previous course attendees have gone on to gain places at a number of top schools, including St. Paul’s Juniors, City, Bute House, Westminster Under, King’s Wimbledon, Dulwich College, Latymer, Habs, Highgate, NLCS, Wetherby, Sussex House and many more.
